Recreation and Tweet Club (Winter)

Birds of different feathers, flock together.

For several weeks, I have been observing our feathered neighbors’ behavior at a very close angle. Here is this tree, just outside our compound in the woods, whose most of the leaves have fallen due to the winter season. This tree seems to attract different species of birds like Robins, Bulbuls, Babblers, Mynas, Doves, and Parakeets including the winter birds like Green Bee-eaters, Munias, and Drongos.  Hence, I refer to this tree as their “Recreation and Tweet Club”.

The Club gets busy in the early mornings and in the late evenings. Birds of all feathers come here to unwind themselves on the branches in between their feeding session or hunting session. They even tweet, chirp, call, or even sing a melodious song. I was wondering if one species can understand the language/call of the other species. However, all of them seem to be comfortable and peaceful with one another, including the bossy Ring Rose Parakeets, who get easily irked by the presence of other species during the feed time in our garden.
